“Faster, faster,” he yelled at his horse. The horse running at a speed like no other. The horse faster than any horse in the kingdom. Whipping the reigns of his horse to push him to go faster. The sun falling under sea, making a beautiful parade of colors, as time slowly slips away.
He entered the woods, a dark maze of trees. Creatures of terror trying to chase him. He exited to the field, a magical field of green. The hills trying to slow him down. He finally reached the great Bridge. he pushed his horse harder, faster. “Faster, faster.” The bridge ended at a sprawling city.
This is the story about what happened in Arizona when I was about 6 and my brother was only 5. One night, my brother and I couldn't fall asleep. We had heard yelling so we went to check it out, we had seen my brother’s father and our mother fighting, My brother's father had gotten so mad that he had stormed out of the house. Our mother had locked the door we had gone to our room crying after seeing that.
Once my brother's father had realized our mother had locked the door he had went to our room and knocked on the window. My brother and I had tried to open the window but it wouldn't budge. We went to the door to open it, but before we had the chance to get to the door, my mother told me that if I opened the door I would never see my dad again. Now I know she would not be able to not let me see my father.
I am so happy to publish our first story with an LGBTQ character. Discovering who you are can be so hard but so important. This story does an excellent job at capturing that conflict. Enjoy!

It was a normal day of High school so far for Melody. Class after Class. Being bored again and again. She was half- asleep in class before lunch when the bell rang. RING RING, RING RING! “Finally, lunch” She wanted to go to lunch, but first she needed to talk to the Teacher.
“Hey , where were you?” asked her BFF since forever, Rebecca. “I’ve been waiting for you.” “Sorry, I had to talk to Mr. Woods. Anyway, where should we sit at lunch, I mean, It's a new school, and the first day for us, but it's everyone else's, like, fiftieth day”.
After they got their lunches, which was P Terry's, they looked around for somewhere to sit, and saw that the only place open was at the Football and cheerleader table. “Hey, can we sit here?”. “I guess, but don't touch or even look at us Losers” one of the cheerleaders said in a grossed out voice. After we sat down, I noticed a football guy staring at me, but when he saw me looking at him, he quickly looked away, blushing. Huh…. I wondered. When I was getting up to leave, I noticed the same guy and girl coming toward us. “Hi, I'm Brian, you must be new.” “Yeah, we both are, BY the way, Her name is Rebecca, and Im Melo-”. That was as far as I got before his “girlfriend” interrupted “Hey babe, can we get away from these unpopular people now, their making my skin itch.” “Uh, sure…,Vanessa.” As they walked away, he turned his head towards us and mouthed “sorry”.
For the rest of the day, I couldn't stop thinking about him. After school, I told Rebecca, and she suggested that we go to the football practice, but of course, Vanessa was their, and guess who was the football captain, of course, it was Brian. We watched for a while, but then we decided to leave, but just as we were leaving, the football came hurtling toward us. I instinctively caught it, because I have five brothers, you have to know how to catch stuff, and after I threw it back, everyone was staring at me. Okayyyy… that's weird, I thought. The next day, I heard a rumor about a breakup, and I didnt think it was too big of a deal until i heard that Brian broke up with Vanessa, and that he had a crush on a new kid! After school, Vanessa came up to us with a real sassy look on her face, which is probably her normal looking face, except it was a lot grosser, and she started talking gibberish or something to us “ I don’t care why you came here, but if you ever show your ugly face again, you will regret it very highly. And that goes for your so-called best friend here too, and by the way, Rebecca, why don't you tell her what you did.”
Vanessa walked away with a smug look on her face, strutting over to her friends. “What does she mean Rebecca?” .“oh you know her, telling lies. Hehe….he”. “Rebecca , what does she mean!!!”. “Ok Melody, there's been something I haven't been telling you……...
Vwoooooom! Baz Eidel was being sucked up a tube at excruciating speeds. Baz was thrown off by the wind into a huge room with a man standing on his desk.
“I’m Dan cupid the world renowned love expert. Now why have you come here.”
“I want,” Baz stammered “ I want, girls.”
“What did you say?! I can't hear you!” Dan Cupid yelled. He jumped off his desk.
“I want to get girls!” Baz yelled
“That’s the spirit laddie,” He said in a Scottish accent
“I will do anything for a gal. You don’t even know bro,” Noted Baz.
It was a normal day. I walked into the office late, as usual. I was ready to apologize to Mr. Slane, when I saw no one was in the building. So i checked my phone to see if it was a day off, it wasn’t, just a plain old Monday. Checked my watch maybe I was early and they were late but nope, it was 8:00 a.m. I was confused because all the lights were on, and the a.c was on but no one was there! So I went to Starbucks next door to get some breakfast, I usually don’t eat breakfast, so today was a treat. A juicy bacon egg and cheese melt. I then saw someone from the office, but he looked kind of translucent.
“Hello?” The sound going into empty fog with no one to receive it. The fog, thick and heavy, surrounding me at every side. The freezing cold air causing me to shiver. Everything quiet and lonely.
“Where am I?” yelling at someone that isn’t there.
“Answer me!” I was yelling while a note quietly fell to my feet.
